The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Front Office (FO), Center for Program Integrity (CPI), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is where this position is located.
Responsibilities
- Determine program integrity efforts’ weak points that could cause legal issues for the objectives of policy and operations in the areas of fraud, waste, and abuse investigation, enforcement, and deterrent.
- Plan and oversee the Center’s efforts on developing Medicare, Medicaid and Health Insurance Marketplaces program integrity regulations and instructions for Medicare contractors and states related to investigation, enforcement, and deterrence of FWA.
- Lead the development of new trainings and initiatives with the CPI Fraud Investigations Group (FIG) and other related groups to implement modern investigative methods, improve contractor oversight and alignment with Center leadership priorities.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in laws, caselaw, regulations, policies, procedures, trends, and developments, both international and domestic, and their impact on the integrity of the CMS’ management of health care programs.
- Prepare or direct the preparation of written communications to address complex and comprehensive correspondence, memoranda, briefing papers, option papers, speeches, and program proposals for the Director and Deputy Directors.
