Welfare Association for Children Tikapur (WACT) (बाल कल्याण संघ, टीकापुर) is a non-government organization working in the areas of child well-being, community health, education, peace and transformational development since 1996.
WACT is seeking to recruit competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidates for the following position for NARI (Nepali Women’s Access to Health Response Initiatives) Project being implemented in partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN).
The project will be implemented in eastern part of Kailali district for a duration of 18 months starting July 2021 to December 2022.
Position : Project Coordinator
Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator will implement NARI project activities in Kailali district incompliance with DFAT policies, Government policies and WVIN’s sectoral and quality standards. The purpose of this position is to execute all project activities, capacity building and coordination across project team. With technical guidance from WVIN Project Lead, the Project Coordinator will effectively implement NARI project using necessary technical tools, quality benchmark, and guidance materials. The Project Coordinator is responsible for technical and functional support in implementation of all project activities, monitoring, management of staff as appropriate and managing relationships with key stakeholders including Local Government.
Required Academic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related Science with at least three years of experience in project management, preferably having worked in close coordination with government institutions like rural/municipality, health facility, previous District Health Office etc.
The position will be based in WACT’s office Tikapur municipality, Kailali district. The position will report to the Program Manager/WACT and Project Lead/WVIN.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead NARI project activities and monitor performance of project team during implementation of project ensuring project activities are delivered within scope, time and budget
- Annual planning, budgeting and implementation of project activities
- Provide technical assistance to government officials, project staff, community based organizations, project beneficiaries, as and when required
- Coordinate across relevant staff and consultants to ensure development and regular use of all technical tools including implementation guideline, quality benchmark, training materials, training curriculum, information materials, behavior change communication (BCC) materials and other resources
- Capacity building of Social Mobilizers to ensure adequate competencies at field level to deliver all necessary components of the project
- Regular monitoring and analysis of program results in coordination with MEALS team
- Learning and sharing meetings with project staff and government staff for continuous improvement of project as well as relationship building
- Identify, assess, and communicate risks associated with the implementation of project, and develop mitigation measures
- Regular reporting, documentation and collection of success stories on regular basis.
- Maintain strong relationship with technical officials of government institutions and like-minded organizations in the district
